I am an economist in Washington DC who writes primarily about public policy. I am President of Capital Policy Analytics, a consulting firm that does research on issues related to public policy and financial markets. I am also a Senior Nonresident Fellow at the Cato Institute and help run the Savings and Retirement Foundation. I am also a member of The Prosperity Caucus. I frequently contribute to The Weekly Standard, Regulation Magazine, Real Clear Markets, and The Hill. I occasionally blog on non-policy-related items at my Pro Bowl Blog. I was born and raised in Mossville, IL and attended Augustana College and Indiana University.
